·      Ask the client if they are allergic to anything. If something irritates the clients’ skin remove the product immediately.
·      Check the client for any contagious diseases such as Conjunctivitis
·      Do not double dip into a product.
·      Always use a spatula to dispense product onto a pallet or the back of your hand.
·      Always clean brushes after and in between uses.

Skin Types
Oily Skin- Use an oil free foundation.
Sensitive skin- Use a hypoallergenic foundation
Combination skin- Go for what is most prominent can get away with oil free or moisturising products.
Dry skin- Use a creamy, moisturising foundation
Older skin- A moisturising Foundation should be used.
Men and Children- Usually a matte primer is sufficient, sometimes a little bit of tinted moisturiser.

Primers
·      Satin
·      Matte
·      You can thin bases down by mixing them with a primer.

Needed;
·      Gown
·      Hair clips
·      Greased Based Foundation Pallet
·      Foundation Application Brush
·      Duo Fibre Stippling Brush
·      Concealer
·      Round Brush for Concealer.
·      Kabuki Brush
·      Translucent Powder
·      Powder Puff

Foundation
1.   Check your client for allergies and infections.
2.   Continue to place a wrap around your client as to protect their clothes. And clip their hair out of the way.
3.   Cleanse, tone and moisturise.
4.   Apply a primer. This can either be mixed in with the base or applied to the skin before the base.
5.   Test the foundation colour. Do this by scraping out a tiny bit of the colour best matched to your clients skin and applying it in a line across their neck and jawline. Blend the edges of this colour test. The colour should blend into the skin perfectly and not be visible.
6.   Once you have the correct colour apply this to the centre of the face using the foundation brush and blend it out towards the outer edges of the face with a big duo fibre stippling brush. Using a big brush like this will diffuse the colour across the face, saving product and preventing unnecessary build up. The makeup should look like part of the skin rather than a mask sitting on the skin.
7.   Move backwards and forwards under the eye, aiming to get as close to the lash line as possible.
8.   Always diffuse the colour onto the ears.
9.   Ask the model to work with you and stretch their neck as so you can get down the neck and the décolletage.
Concealer
1.   Using the concealer pallet, once again do a colour test; this time the concealer should be 1-2 shades lighter than the foundation.
2.   Using a small rounded brush apply the concealer under the eye, around the nose, mouth and chin to disguise any darkness or red areas.
3.    Apply the concealer in the same shade as the foundation to blemishes as not to highlight them.
4.   Blend this with the foundation brush used previously
5.   Buff the face with a Kabuki Brush to blend and get rid of excess product on the face.
6.   Always check the face to see if any imperfections or blemishes have rejected product due to heat.

Powder
1.   Apply a small amount of translucent powder to a Powder Puff and dab the excess off
2.   Roll the puff across the face to powder; this motion stops the puff removing the base you have just created.
