Natural Every Day
Contouring
With contouring you have the option
of using either grease based makeup or powder. You can use a combination of
both if you wish but it is necessary to use translucent powder in between to
set each layer.
Needed
· Gown and Clips
· Contour Colour- Powder or Grease.
This must be 1-2 shades darker than the natural skin tone.
· Fluffy Powder brush
· Foundation brush
Contouring
1. Place a gown around your client and
clip their hair back.
2. Check for allergies or infections.
3. Cleans, tone and moisturise the face
before applying the foundation and concealer.
4. Ask your client to suck in their
cheeks to make their cheekbones visible, it helps if you feel for the
cheekbones also by rolling the brush up the cheek until it reaches the bone.
5. Apply the powder or grease (if using
grease makeup do not powder the foundation before this step) under the
cheekbone to create a shadow.
6. Buff and blend this using the
foundation brush to make sure there are no harsh lines.
7. If needed, apply this to the sides
of the nose, forehead and under the chin. Contouring can change the shape of
the face by shading certain areas.
8. Powder the face to set.
Highlighting
1. Use a colour 2-3 shades lighter than
the natural skin tone.
2. Apply this down the centre of the
face, on the tops of the cheekbones and on the brow bone.
3. Continue this step until you are
satisfied.
